The management and status of pension funds have always been a major concern in all societies. In terms of its functions, this institution has a high status and multifaceted impact. The situation of pension funds in Europe has long been under scrutiny, and legislative studies in this area are fraught with foresight and caution. Officials say negligence and negligence could spread the crisis of legitimacy and efficiency to the funds. Therefore, they implemented continuous reforms according to the requirements of each country. In this article, an attempt has been made to fundamentally point to the evolution of the concept of social support in European countries in the context of the theory of the welfare state. However, it should be borne in mind that the level of development and the state of the funds are not the same among European countries; However, the role of the European Union in implementing reforms in the pension programs of member states is significant.
