Abstract

Good governance is an approach to improving the performance of political and governmental institutions that have expanded significantly in the last four decades. One of the most well-known indicators of good governance is the eight indicators of the United Nations Development Program. Law is not far from the realm of governance and there is a close connection between law and the realm of governance. Law legitimizes and frames governance. The constitution, which is at the top of the hierarchy of legal rules, is the charter of the rule of states. The present study seeks to answer the question: What are the implications of the principles of good governance in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran? To answer this question, the method of qualitative research of signification research in the humanities has been used. According to the implications obtained in this study, the principles of good governance have various implications in the constitution in terms of form, but in terms of content, different meanings can be understood from the common meanings of the principles of good governance in the constitution.
