Abstract
The judicial system has an irreplaceable capacity to administer justice, stamp out corruption and protect the legitimate freedoms of the people. To have such a system, public supervision considerably matters because any non-public supervision can be diverted for the benefit of powerful groups. Freedom of information, which is one of the means of public surveillance in the present era, obliges the judicial system and its subordinates, to publish judicial information. It refers to any information that is produced in the judiciary and it subordinates. It must be published without delay based on the principle of freedom of information. Publishing information, including judicial information, is not enough currently, therefore the concept of open data has been proposed, which undoubtedly has a positive effect on public surveillance. In this article, the freedom of information is examined in the judicial process and the nature of judicial open data is examined. The result of this article is that the regulation of the "Comprehensive Judiciary Information System", the Constitution and Acts implying the publicity of courts and the publication of verdicts, have not been able to hold the judicial system accountable.
